Allan took the chrome of the car yesterday.

Front headlight rings and washers bits

Rear light rings

Front grille top and lower part.

Put first couple of coats of plastidip on head light and rear light trims today and yesterday.

Here are a couple of pics will take more when the other bits are dry enough to handle and when Allan fits them back on the car. I think the Plastidip is easy enough to use and really comes up well when dry, at first you think oh no.

Hopefully I will like the look if not this stuff is just meant to peel off not sure what the longevity will be like though.

Some pics of the rings back on the car still got the upper and lower grille trim to do but ran out of plastidip :argh:

I know a lot of folks prefer the chrome

but for me I am liking very much the black trim think it works better with the PW and when the belt line gets done.

Is plastidip available from DIY stores or just ebay and the likes?

It is great stuff and does peel off :yes nod: ...............like rubber - it's bizarre when it's dry.

Are you doing the chrome belt line too?

Interesting stuff, will have to get a tin. Would be interested to see if it would last on the door handles

I don't think so Mike a lot of girls and boys who wear rings the rings would just chip away at the rubber paint.

The Plastidip stuff doesn't chip - I was going to use it on my door handles but then decided to sell the car.

Looks awesome Fi - good work :thumbs up:

Hows much did you pay for the plasti-dip stuff?

Scottie
6th January 2009, 11:07 PM
from ebay at £9.40 + postage think it came to just over the £14 which ain't bad when you think how well it turns out.

Changing my checks to black with middle red check:cool: think it will work better.

That's a much cheaper option than spraying everything - that's for sure!!

Think i've got my next cheap mod on the list

true I got carbon fibre priced up for these bits and even I choked on the price hence palstidip.

I have another work in progress;) I came up with the concept and Allan has executed it for me but I'm not allowed to spray with the plastidip until it has bonded and dryed.:argh: Hoping it turns out good and works ok.:argh:

Very individual, but what do you do at trade in time (not that I am at all suggesting that that will be soon ) as I can't imagine these mods ain't gonna be wanted by the 'stealers'
