Thought I'd make use of my hols & give the cars a good clean...intended on starting with the Passat and spending more time on the S, as well as concentrating on refurbing the slightly rusty spotlights.

However..... I ended up being at the outlaws over Xmas - 25th, 26th, 27th & 29th :ragin: then at my folks' yesterday, so not much time to concentrate on the cars with being dragged round the sales by my better half on the other days :thud:

I got the Megs Gold Class out to wash the VW on the 30th - and intended to wash the S at the same time, but it mysteriously disappeared down to do some sales shopping on it's own accord  so the VW got my full attention. Having rinsed the bodywork it was dried with a new microfibre towel then lubed up with Megs QuikDetailer and clayed. It's a big car and although the claying didn't pick up too many particles I wanted to do it thoroughly as I've not had it too long and it's the first TLC I've given it, this took around 3.5hrs, then I moved onto polishing it with Poorboy's World Carnauba Wax Polish to prep it for a good waxing. I stopped there with the lack of light and cooler temperatures beginning to give me grief :argh:
So, I was up bright & early on Hogmanay, raring to get a nice coat of Poorboy's World Natty's Paste wax on the car. Had my brekkie and went out to find it was frozen solid :shut up:
Left it running for half an hour with the Climatronic on quick clear and all was well - just needed a quickie rub down with the MF towel and then on to the waxing. However, a rain shower interrupted play after I'd completed the front end and one side (I'd decided to leave the roof until I'd nipped into the attic for our steps, with me being a bit of a short arse) and so I nipped back inside for some grub and was distracted with the amazing entertainment available on the telly...not :frown:
Anyway, it was the same situation again the next morning, up early on New Year's Day and a semi-frozen car had to be defrosted before trying to complete the coat of wax. But...rain stopped play again, plus we were due at my parents' for the afternoon, so got nowhere fast. Today was better, just a little defrosting and drying, then on with the wax...plus I'd retrieved the steps so the roof got done first :thumbs up:

Finally completed it and stood back to admire my work & snap a few pics, and the rain came on again :argh:

Not great quality, as they're just from my phone.

Having done all that, Claire suggested we go for a wee run to have a look at a couple of new houses...I agreed not realising a few of them were quite rural, so it's filthy again :ragin::ragin::ragin:

Time to start on the Mini

Well, it's been a while but I've finally had my brillo pad out & washed, polished & waxed the MINI - after a closer look it's not really needing a claying yet.

Here's a few pics, the light conditions were starting to deteriorate by the time I'd finished it so they don't really do it justice :hand:
