Hi all , when I get a couple of pound together Id like to do a few mods to the car (02 s), so far Im looking at a Dinan airbox, 15% pulley and getting my almost new exhaust modded to a 1 ball (cant afford aftermarket yet)
Any thoughts on the above and does any one in Scotland fit the pulley and at what price fitted? not worried about doing it myself but if you dont have the right tools! and any one used anyone they can recomend to mod the exhaust. Thanks:thumbs up:

Hey there,
The Dinan air box is great!!!! The 15% pully is great - no issues on mine at all (2004 S). As far as install ?????? yes, you need the MINI pully puller - take your time or find someone that has done it before.
I had the Dinan airbox. 15% pully, & a cat back exhaust - it ran great. The only issue I had was pre-detonation ( to low octane fuel for the stock tune ) here in the summer time ( 110F plus ). I got a Unichip set-up and had it tuned for my mods - it worked great. It really smoothed out the power and solved the detonation issue.

171 HP at the WHEELS - about 10 more than a stock JCW MINI on the same day - same dyno;bigwave:

That's something we need for Scotland, so far no real aftermarket tuner, however, there is the JCW route from our main sponsor :thumbs up:
If you don't have a proper pulley puller than don't attempt it cause if you make a mess of it you'll need a lot more than a pulley

Cheers for the advice lads , have someone who will supply a puller for hire if I get the pulley and belt of them, cant be bad. Think ill get it and start collecting the other bits and pieces and then hit it in a oner come spring time.
Have to say this is a brill wee site and has helped me no end on info and advice already.:thumbs up:

With the 15% pully you can use either the stock belt or the JCW belt - both will work fine. I went with the JCW belt ( it was cheaper than the stock one ). I think the JCW is a 14.7% pully so the belt is a tad shorter that stock, but I knoe several people that run the stock belt with no problems - so use whichever one is cheaper.
Good luck - your gonna love it:thumbs up:

Wouldn't waste my money on the JCW conversion.................never makes the power stated and for £3k you can get far more from the likes of 1320, Lohen and / or GTT
