For a first gen New MINI Cooper S was 169bhp. Face-lift brought that up to 172. Then the second gen new MINI Cooper S is 175bhp

However, dont be put off by the low BHP figures as BMW are very conservative with them in order to get the insurance groups down.
I put my 07 gen 2 Cooper S on the rolling road when it had only 600 miles on the clock and it was filled with supermarket fuel. It was producing something like 195bhp. No mods or nothing. :D

Our JCW R56 is waaaaaay more powerful at an official 198bhp than our JCW R53 official 210bhp.

Your clio would wipe the floor off most S's for sure. I just remember playing with a 197 cup in a GP and turned out I was a bit faster :D
