ok folks. After seeing the dates for the MINI Cooper Cup, this clashes with the first rounds at Knockhill (the first race of the year being in Ireland) and I really want to go.... I may be being a bit selfish, but I really enjoyed going to most of the meets last year. A great day out and also great to meet all the drivers that you chat to on here. :thumbs up:

Would there be a big problem for anyone if I moved this to the weekend before ? (ie Sun 19th April) ;)

That would make it 2 weeks after Ben's Spring Spin. :yes nod::yes nod:

Being at the back does not guarantee Miss Daisy driving, far better being near the front, unless you have the cold reserves of never playing catch up

Being at the back does not guarantee Miss Daisy driving, far better being near the front, unless you have the cold reserves of never playing catch up

Agreed :yes nod:

If you wanna go at sensible speeds then follow the leader as near as possible to the front of the group. The leader of most NMS runs  will/should not break the speed limits for the roads you are on.

If however you wanna 'step on it' then go out as late as possible along with the back markers. You will almost certainly be playing catch up with the front runners & although the speed limits are to be adhered to  it will cetainly always be at a quicker pace, shall we say :thumbs up:
Unfortunatley on some runs of late there have been instances where the more moderate pacers have found themselves out at the back of the grid. This can lead to both 'alarm' (for the slower drivers) & 'frustration' (for the faster drivers) which does nothing for the enjoyment of the day.

Just my 2p but one that should maybe be brought up 'pre' any future NMS runs (especially for anyone who is new to the scene)

ELFMAN
1st April 2009, 12:12 PM
Right, so I should go near the front (this doesn't work on Stoney's Runs!).
I ain't going THAT slow though... so maybe I should go in the middle and get the best/worst of both worlds. I'm away for a lie down.

I'm soooo pee'ed off. My new exhaust has been on back order for 3 weeks now (and likely to be another 10 days:ragin:) and my current one is not up to the job. I had been hoping that it would arrive just in time :frown:.

This is one of the best runs of the year and I'm going to have to miss out - unless anyone is short of a co-pilot?

At the top of the M80 there is an exit for the services. This is before you join the M90. Not sure of the junction number though.

Cracking run Craigy lad.:thumbs up: Sorry we had to duck away early. We both felt like death warmed up and to be honest, had to keep slapping each other to stay awake on the way home as it is.

Excellent weather too. Who said you could steal the Borders run weather. Well, let me tell ya... it's only on loan!:hand:

Got half way through taking pics with my nice new camera and my nice new lens and realised I'd been shooting with the wrong white balance setting, so the first load of pics look a tad washed out. Seriously pissed at myself for such a schoolboy error. However, some are not too bad and after the mistook was corrected the rest don't look too bad. So I've sent a whole pile to Gismo to add to the gallery when it's done.

In the mean time, here's a couple.:yes nod:

I had a great day. Excellent weather helped as well. I have warned my wee sis not to tell my Mum that we were driving at 'pace' along the back roads just incase she doesnt let her go again as she is keen to attend more. Perhaps she will have to sit in the back as Sarah should be back on NMS runs when she is not hung over.
First NMS run for my JCW and the first time I have had the oppertunity to really push it along.
Many thanks to Craig for organising another great run. :D

Yup he was.

What I would like to say on the matter (and this will be an end to it) is that he put his hand up to driving like a bit of a tw*t. He did apologise and as he is not a member I think we will leave it like that.

We all know how to drive on runs and this was a small isolated incident and thankfully nothing bad happened.

I trust that we will leave this subject alone now and look at the fantastic day out we all had.

Think the biggest compliment to the run is the speed the pictures appeared on the site, I was expecting to wait a few days to get to see them………

That has to be the best days weather this year you got, When I woke up and looked out this morning I thought “balls that’s going to be some run and I’m going to miss it”
