hey guys, just about the window tinting question. Is it still legal? Cause i got pulled over by the traffic and they wanted me to take my tinting of the drivers and passengers windows. Its the lightest tint you can get, but on the black mini it looks darker.
Obviously i havent taken it of............... what the heck,, let them book me.... what do you lot day about this?

yeah, this issue has been well documented on here...
ANY tint on the front windows are illegal as MINI's leave the factory with the maximum tint allowed by the law.
So if you have a tint on your front windows, then they are illegal, regardless of how light it is.... ;)
our sponsor MINI Designs (http://www.minidesigns.biz) can give you professional advice :thumbs up:

I say your attitude is totally irresponsible :frown:
You may want to check the penalties. If the same officer stops you again, s/he may do more than book you!

Best way to go about tinting is to go for a tint that gives a graded look. I mean lighter tinting on the doors than you have on the back or certainly lighter than the factory tint. I've been stopped by the police on a couple of occasions - once would you believe because specy was too clean and shiny  - other time cost me 3 points but wont dwell on that one - and despite their considerable interest in specy on the 'too shiny' occasion made no query about the windows.
