It's often a topic of conversation in the AndyP & L household - while sat watching a film from the 80's or 90's or listening to a song from the days gone by, would it work NOW if it were released in the present day.

Examples are the likes of:

Back To The Future.
Indiana Jones. OK the last one worked, but only because it had pedigree.
Romancing the Stone.
Beverly Hills Cop
Top Gun. Would you all buy Jake Gyllenhall or Tobey Maguire in the Cruises role?

And as for songs, would Queen really have been the massive band they were if they released the likes of Fat Bottomed Girls and Bohemian Rhapsody now?

A.

they would be bigger if released now. IMHO.

Really?? It was ok. far too many holes and set ups for the next movie.
I stand by South Park's take on what Spielberg did to Indy ;)
And I ain't posting THAT clip on here :p:p you'll have to Youtube it!

If it were all started now tho, sure it'd work. the effects would be much slicker
