Anyone got any advice on what product to use (and where to get it) to remove tar spots on my alloys?

The best tar remover is Autosmart Tardis.
Spray on and watch the tar running off. Wipe it over then wash clean. It is safe to use on all paintwork, plastics and alloys.
You can get a big 5 ltr from Polished Bliss or if you search on eBay im sure there are some sellers selling 500ml bottles of it. If you buy the big 5 ltr drum you will need a spray bottle with a chemical resistant head.

Just to echo what Ian has said. Tardis is the muts nuts when it comes to getting rid of tar spots.:thumbs up:
I have the 5lt container with a spray bottle and chemical resistant head.

I find a brillo pad to be equally effective ;), add some jiff if it's a troublesome spot :thumbs up:

I would be tempted to give their product G101 a go non acid. We used it when we were up the road very good product their Tardis product is very severe don't leave on to long.

A coat of Poorboys Wheel Sealant afterwards should help prevent it occuring again ;)

G101 wont remove tar spots though. G101 is great as an all purpose cleaner though.
I have never had any prob with Tardis damaging paintwork and I have been using it for years.

It certainly does, tastes a bit funny though
On the plus side I don't need to brush my teeth any more, just a quick slosh round with mouth wash lol
