Bwah ha ha ha.. .just about recovered from the trip..
What can I say.. the place was awesome! They used the whole Excel centre.. which is a massive building, and the car parks out the back, as well as the open air court out the front (where the Supercars were) where they did kind of a Goodwood festival drive about with some cars like the Ferrari F40, Ford GT40, Porsches and Maseratis...:thumbs up: The noise of that GT40!!! I think I made a mess! :D:laugh:
Basically the centre is made up of about 6 halls, these were all joined together to fit every manufacturer in.. and boy did they have some nice machinery! a few of the ones that stood out for me were the Camaro concept, The hyundai Coupe Concept (yes, they really ARE making it!:cool: albeit with a few minor changes), the new Suzuki concept.. and without a doubt the Alfa C8. OMG. Stunning car. End of discussion!! lol THey had a red one and a white convertible there, and good grief they're beautiful. The pictures dont do the candy red metallic any justice at all.. I wanted to lick it! THe GTR of course was luvverly too, they had one set up on Hydraulic ramps and it moved about as they displayed a video of the record breaking Nurburgring lap in front of it.. like one of those fairground simulators.. shame you couldn't get in it!
The mini stand was quite impressive, lovely laser blue Clubby S, with factory Aero kit.. V nice! The Works S was a slight disappointment I have to say.. It didn't look that special, and the one there has a pretty anonymous set of wheels on it too... hmm..
There were plenty of boats outside too on the river, from little motor boats to a yacht which looked like it wasn't a kick in the @rse off £1million!
And the ladies.. the lovely ladies...:thumbs up:
I can't think what elseto say about it.. we had a brilliant day there. Started around 11am, and we were still pretty much tere at the end of play - 8pm!!
If you ever get the chance to go.. do it!
Anyway.. Here's some Pics! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/29054871@N02/) Some are ok, some aren't great.. combination of shots taken with phone and camera.. the angles to get in were ridiculous for most of them cos of the enclosures and other flippin' people! lol.
