Hi
New member here! I thought by way of an introduction I would tell you a little about my Mini history:
Bought my first new gen Mini back in 2001, an Indy Blue Cooper, which had all the delightful problems that came with the initial builds: pull to the left, water in the electrics, rear hatch lock, etc., Lost count the number of times I visited the dealer. Anyway, I still liked the car enough to trade her in for a new Hyper Blue Cooper S in 2004; the first of the 2005 spec and I'm still driving this today. Must say I really love the MCS; still look forward to each driving trip.
I did have a look at the 2nd gen Mini when launched, but didn't really like it. At the time, I felt something had been lost in translation. The exterior, however, has grown on me (apart from that front wheel arch/bonnet gap). Still don't like the interior!
As for the future, I may have some high mileage driving ahead of me in the near future and so the MCS may have to go, but I'm going to hang-on as long as I can.
Anyway, looking forward to reading/posting Mini related stuff with a Scottish slant.
