We've just got back from 2 days in the Lake District. 400miles of Motorway plus another 100 miles or so of varied (Hardknott pass anyone!) B roads gave an average of 38.9mpg.

R56MCS with Works 192 tuning kit.

On a good run at a steady 70-75 i get 40mpg. Around town it's about 28-29mpg. After 8k miles i've averaged around 32mpg (actual not OBC)

A lot better than my R53MCS:D

However, how anybody gets the claimed 55mpg ( or anywhere close ) that MINI state:confused:

Vidal.

Did you not ask the same questions a couple moths or so ago.
Just get one bought man. You know deep down you want another MINI.

I get on avaerage with a bigger run down the A7 or such like about 40-42.
running about the town about 35-38

Going out having fun and giving it a bit of a rev about 30.

My sticking point is the cost of finance from MINI.

Try Sainsburys. Thats were I went initially for my finance and then Mini were able to beat it.

Averaging 30mpg....loads more if I get a run or behave myself, but nice twisty roads between my house and work so never manage to behave.

Managed 42 until we started climbing up to Burnhope then it dropped to 37, we'll see how it does tomorrow on the long run to work.....
