I am hoping some of you can join us for this years Lakes Tour:welcome:
Its a bit different from most Minis runs as there is an entry fee but this is purely to cover running costs - I make no profit (big marquee, PA etc)
Based in Pooley Bridge (J40 M6) we have our own field at a great campsite, the event runs from Friday 13th to Monday 16th. You can come for the whole weekend or just a day its up to you. 90% of people camp but I do have details of B&B's.
Our field has a toilet block & we have a marquee for navigators briefings & socialising. The main site has large separate male, female shower blocks with good hot showers, a large shop, cafe, take away, bar, nightclub & car wash!!.
The event is open to Classics & new Minis - last year the split was 50:50.
Friday night we do a pub crawl in the town
Saturday is still being finalised but looking like a ferry raid in the morning & treasure hunt in the afternoon.
Saturday night - party time
Sunday - after an early navigators briefing & distribution of road books you are set off on a 120 ish mile scenic tour on some fantastic roads with an optional pub stop for lunch
We road books take on 2 forms, tulip diagrams one day, written notes the other.
Its NOT a race
I have been running the event since 1990 and am expecting around 150 cars this year. Please take a look at the photos on my site from previous events
