What are people's thoughts on the R56 Sport Button option. I have it fitted to my Cooper and think its £90 well spent. The feel of the steering for one is so much better, and you do get a better response from the "throttle"...:)

Don't have it so can't comment.

However, I have never felt my car was hesitant or needed heavier steering.

Brilliant, just wish the "sport" mode was the default.

I don't have it on my Dooper you never miss what you don't have.

However when I buy my face lifted Mini in about 18 months or so I will spec it.:D along with Xenons.

I have it on my S and as soon as I am out of the town I put it on. Makes the car sooo much more responsive and makes the steering feel better.

I agree with this completely. I used it on the open roads and it gave more feel to the steering and much better throttle response...

Yup, "sport" mode is great when you're in the mood to push on :D

Question for those with it...

Wouldn't you rather the car was like that all the time?

Yes, I switch it on as soon as car is started on almost all occasions.

9 times out of 10 i would have it on all the time...:D

I must be the odd one out then:rolleyes:

Hate the 'non sport mode' throttle, but hate the 'sport mode' steering even more. Heavier doesn't mean more feel.

Hence why i'm ordering the Sprint Booster, so hopefully this will give me sharper throttle while keeping the std. steering.

So in answer, i will never use Sport mode again:D

I love my sports button but would not have the car like that all the time as i dont like driving around town with it on.what i would like is a better way of knowing it was on like a light to come on the dash rather than the little LED:D

Mine is certainly on more than it is off.
Agree with William about a better indication on the dash.

If I were to order another Mini I would def have to have it.

Well, that's what I was getting at, wouldn't you rather it was just on all the time? ECU's are pretty complex these days, wouldn't take that much to have it reflect how your driving rather than have to hit a button.

I'd rather a car left the factory in the best shape it could and am not a fan of these options, like the M5 and it's power settings. I'd rather it was right from the off, if you know what I mean?

No, with it off the car is easier to drive smoothly - ideal when in town or just taking it easy.

Gives the best of both worlds :D
