We've had this problem for a while now with our R56 Cooper S. When driving at high speed (60 or 70mph) we get a really loud high pitched squealing noise coming from the top of the windscreen in the middle. At first we thought it was poor wiper design, but it turns out its a fault and the noise is not coming from the wiper blades. When you get the noise if you push the top middle of the windscreen the pitch of the noise changes or stops altogether.
So our MINI was in Vardy's in Edinburgh yesterday to have it looked at. Quite a few folk on MINI2 have had their windscreens replaced, but it seems all it needs is the trim and rubber seal at the top of the windscreen replaced.
Booked in just before Oxford to get it fixed. Along with a 7th attempt to fix our sun roof blind issue.:rolleyes:
