I am looking out the window at lovely blue skies today, I look back at the Met office weather or BBC websites and Aberdeen should be experiencing heavy rain....not a cloud in sight. How can these idiots get it so wrong?

Monki,

It's the same for Galashiels (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=3644), and we've had a mixture of torrential rain, then the clouds clear away then sunshine for 10 mins, then torrential rain again. So it may still be on it's way to you.:(

You're not out the woods yet.;)

Metoffice - Good; BBC - Crap. If you want to see where the rain is falling you need to check out the rainfall radar on the metO website: -

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/

As you can see (at 19:30) the rain is very broken up, one minute sunshine the next piddling down. The forecast is based on the extreme conditions, however looking at the radar perhaps heavy showers would have been a better prediction for Aberdeen.

Was raining in Aberdeen for a while early this afternoon before the sun came out. Blimey, Monki you sound as if you were complaining  Were you hoping for rain for a specific reason?

Watched the rugby this afternoon. Heavy rain and sunshine at the same time on the pitch with two lovely rainbows just to add to the occasion.

Great result at Murrayfield today :D:D:D:D:D
