Sorry for another tyre question but I have a set of Brand New Tyres in my Garage never used came with wheels for my BMW.
They are 205 x 50 x 17
now I know for the 17's on a Mini should be 205x45x17
but will my Tyres fit???????
and if they do will it make a huge difference in the speedo readings.

they will fit the wheel, but they will change the mph shown. You need a mathmetician to work that out  :D or find a website that gives you comparisons.. :)
done it for you ya lazy wumin...;)
makes a 3.33% difference so if your speedo is saying 70, you are actually doing 72.33mph. you will need to take that info consideration. :D

Personally i wouldn't put 50 profile tyres on a 17" wheels! 45 at the most. It will look like a tractor!

50 is a percentage of overall tyre width, not 50mm.

Tyre sizes are made up of a number of different numbers and letters. For example tyre size 175/70 R 13 82 T is made up of the following information:
175 - The tyre section width in millimetres (That is the width of the tyre tread)
70 - The aspect ratio in % (the height of the sidewall divided by the tyre's width)
R Denotes the tyre's construction type - in this case it's a radial
13 Rim diameter in inches
82 Load Index
T Speed Rating

Fi, the height of the side wall will increase by 1cm (width 205 x aspect ratio 50%) from 9 cm to 10cm

yeh so a difference of 5mm from north to centre to south and east to centre to west =20mm bp by putting on the 50 profile this will increase the diameter by 21mm so I was 1mm out. Keeping in mind this is a woman trying to work this out.;)
