A very happy newbie....

collected my mini this afternoon...part exchange for my cursed old Corsa (had it 18 months, been in garage 22 times, is that a record?)

am very very chuffed with Mini so far...was solid silver on 15" wheels when saw it last Sat, managed to talk the dealer into 17" wheels and bonnet stripes...lovely!

what next is the question, any suggestions welcome, will pics when i get them

plans for weekend are sorting out sound system....driving round today with cassette player has killed me!!! cd player, ipod and sub and ill be in heaven! that is if i cant get standard player out....went into halfords to buy radio keys...should have done my homework first, felt like a right idiot! :(

Very Nice, get some clear side repeaters and then it will look even better.

How do you find the diesel? I always get confused when I see pictures of the diesel (they feature pre facelift bumpers, however facelift lights etc)

i am most concerned now!! everyone is commenting on how my car shouldnt have the bumper it does...being the age it is etc etc

its is a 1.6 petrol, not diesel. im confused :confused:

As a 55 car, it should have the facelift bumper I would have thought. There are a few possibilities as to why it has a pre-facelift front bumper. One of which is that the original front bumper may have got damaged somehow and a cheaper replacement for the owner was a pre-facelift one. Just speculating. Perhaps your dealer could shed more light on this.

as andy says, I would speak to your dealer, cos if they didn't declare that the car wasn't "normal" then you may have some haggling. You will find that the lower chrome grill is not smooth like the upper chrome grill on the front bumper. It may look a bit odd. At least I would be asking the dealer to replace the lower grill.. ;)
