Sorry Fi, but a Harley is the Rolls Royce of bikes. Gold Wing is fine if your over 60 and want to cruise everywhere at 50.

Get a Harley if you want to go in style... really miss mine, but had to sell it to buy the house I am in.. still want another.. :(

You had a Harley.??? cool.

I understand that Harleys are the ultimate in bikes (not including OCC bikes) had a look at the Harley garage in Preston not far from where you got your Mini just having a poke around,

Having no idea about todays motorbikes and the cost I was amazed at the price of this bike.

This is the bike I want (http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2005models/2005-HarleyDavidson-RoadKingClassic-FLHRCI.jpg)

but new it will prob be about £16K so it would have to be second hand, but they hold their value about 10 times better than a mini  :D

Sorry folks but Harleys are far from the ultimate in bikes, that crown goes to just about every other bike but a harley.

My vote goes to the italians for style and the Japs for everything else.

That said I have owned and am proud of Triumph.

crotch rocket... :p

each to their own Monki, it's all relative, Mrs D likes to go on the back of the bike and refused to get on the back of my Bandit after being on my Harley, so that is the only bike for my family... ;)

Touring belongs to the BMW K1200 LT

Tourers have their place but have no soul. I owned a Kawasaki Connie 1000 and it was a great bike for long haul but that was it.

As for Harleys, they evolved from a need in America but dont work well here.....we have corners;) I know a couple of owners and for them its a sunday chug along to a show once or twice a year.

....these are not bad but it would be my last choice.:o

I'm not much into bikes at all. Although recently I've been eying them up more and more - maybe a mid life crisis coming on...

But, I have to say....

This bike:

http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2005models/2005-HarleyDavidson-RoadKingClassic-FLHRCI.jpg

Is significantly nicer looking than this bike:

https://secure.speedymoto.com/images/SpeedyMoto_1098.jpg

All in my untrained, unprofessional opinion, of course.

Just to add to the above, the red one looks like it has bits of plastic about to drop off it, whereas the Harley just looks.... "polished". I don't mean in a wax/polish way, I mean the workmanship.

Ooowwwwwwwww YES...........:p:p:p now were talking!!! If I had the money I'd have one of these quicker than you could say 'cha-ching' :D I've always loved Ducatis but never been able to afford one and have always been worried about the electrics failing like most Italian built cars/bikes :o

The best all round bike would have to the

The Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird .

A Blackbird is useable in any situation

It will dance with a sports bike on the twisties, Well balanced for around the town, Loves trackdays, all day riding, cross continenent mile munching in its stride and all this 2 up.

Looks lovely and has ballistic power With an estimated top speed of 180+ mph with 150 bhp sends this beast to 0-60 in 2.7secs, 0-100 in 5.9secs.

Wow;)
