Hey guys,
Take a look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5n4NAvlzXA&feature=related
These gauges look fantastic? Does anyone know anything about these or any other gauges? I'm very interested and would love to get something like those in the video fitted.
Also, do you's know if theres any tampering with the engine to have them fitted or just a case or connecting wires.....?
Would love any input.....
Cheers

The website to get them is:

As you can see you dont get no bracket to mount them beside the steering wheel, anyone know of any brackets or something to keep it place lol?

Prosport are cheap and **** i'm afraid.
You want proper gauges, don't settle for any less than Defi. Extremely well built and very easy to install. They are also the only gauges that are worth a decent amount when secondhand.

My mate has those Nippon Seiki quage things in his Cooper S. He brought them back from Hong Kong. He has them fited up the drivers side A pillar next to the front screen. Not my cup of tea but he likes that kind of thing. It does look quite good when its dark though.

is it just me or do all the photos of the defi guaged look really naff and tacky? fake carbon plonked on what looks like a pug 206 dash or the like.....i mean come on, who is foolinh who here.
.....and those little a pillar pods....they look sh!te. it looks like the car has backed into halfords with its window open and hooled a stand.
At least the ones at the top of the post look nice.

As tacky as they can look, they can look very professional as well... The purposes they serve can be of real assistance as well.
For a normal, everyday road car which doesn't get horsed about and its modified etc its a bit pointless but each to their own.
As for the wee fancy dial colours and bounces, most do that ;)

The gauges themselves look very good, but, like some, i'm not so sure of the mountings or surrounds.
There are some mounts available for the A pillar, better than the one shown in a previous post and also that sit either side of the tacho above the sterring wheel.
As many items like this, it's all personal choice :)

A pillar pod was indeed cheap, but the carbon was real....and it isn't a pug but a scoob. Moonshine, if you haven't had the things in your hands, how can you possibly comment on whats good and bad??
The pic at night is of the BF range and the other two are Link.

I've no real issue with the guages them selves, rather the aesthetics of the housing. The carbon might be the real deal, but, in my opinion, it looks naff against the cheap plastics in the dash - it is the contrast which i think looks cheap
The housing would look so much better if it matched the car it was in, in i.e. cheap plastic & cheap plastic / Alcantara & alcantara / Carbon & carbon.

I don't tend to buy things for just their looks.
The gauges were needed IMHO, as i was runing over 440hp at the time. The housing are all what are available.
You could spend time/money getting them covered in alacantra or similar, but they'd still be made of the same material at the end of the day.

Whats the problem exactly?
Me! I'm hopeless at electrics!! I have followed the wiring instructions but soon as I plug the connector into the gauge the gauge shoots round to the stop and stays there...............the strange thing is that the gauge is not connected to the battery as yet - although the "sender" is..............very confused indeed  !

Well you must be getting power to the gauge, for it to move.
You should have power, ground and illumination, with the sender as a further part.
It sounds like your power is of a different source....or something. :D

Should it not be "switched" power? If I could find the cable that I need to tap into would be great.
My sender is earthed, + battery and the remaining cable connected to the gauge as per the manufacturers instructions.

Lol pass! Sounds a bit weird, but you have the instructions, not me. :D
