It seems a woman had a suspicious device on the rig and she ended up being sedated.

Think she'll be lucky to get off without a spell in Cornton Vale or a psyciatric unit. Just glad it was a false alarm though. Think it might flag up that in the event of a real emergency they will have to plan for speedier evacuation. I think it took quite some time to get 100 men off. Heaven knows how long it would have taken to get them all to safety.

They should have said last one off buys the first round, quickest way to clear any building in or near Aberdeen.

Or you could have just said there's a free bar back on shore, most of the Aberdonians would have swam back.

These comments are meant in good humour, and I understand how important offshore safety is and how difficult it is to work in an environment like the North Sea.

LOL. Am I to take it you typed the first bit then sat back with a grin on your face. Re-read your post then thought. "Aw FFS, someone is bound to get upset over that. I better go and put a qualification statement on that"

TBH, I thought of coming up with some wise-crack when you posted that a woman had a "suspicious device on the rig". I was sure if I thought long and hard I could come up with something witty, but I thought it would upset anyone who thought I didn't think I took working offshore safety seriously. So I didn't post it.:D

I resisted the 'suspicious device' wise crack but couldn't resist a little dig at our short armed friends in the north east. However, I didn't want people to think I wasn't aware how serious a rig downman is, I'm very happy that this was just false alarm.
