Anyone got an R56 S with 215/35R18 tyres on it? Just wondering how different it is to the 17 inch wheels with run-flats.

I had them on my R56 when I had it. I found the ride smoother with the std tyres on, despite them being 18" rather than 17". I found the car tracked very well, but that may have been down to proper rubber, rather than the hard Run-flats.

do it, you won't regret it. :D

Lol, i'm sure i won't regret it, but i've got 35's on the P1 and had 35's on previous scoobs too and every time, i've had to be cautious of every bad bit of road.

With the missus going to be driving it 90% of the time, i don't want to go fit 35's to the car and have to replace the wheels every so many months, due to her buckling them constantly. :D

Don't want the ride too harsh either. :)

the ride certainly isn't harsh, however depending on who makes your wheels, you have to be slightly more "careful" so as not to buckle the rims... You can cover that subject with your missus, anyway you see fit.. ;) :D

Lol, i can hear the question s now...

Why do you want to get wheels that big anyway?

Can't you put bigger tyres on?

Whats up with the ones on it just now?

:D

What i don't get is why Mini used the rare as 'ell (and expensive) 205/40's for their 18's? :(

Yeah! Why?
Why are they more prone to buckling?
Why just the missus?
Does the missus know you're suggesting her driving technique is less than perfect?
Are you brave enough to tell her?
:D:D:D

Oh i can tell her all right! She'll just agree with me. :D

I've seen the stupidity shine out her on a couple of occasions. ;)

.........still love 'er to bits though. :o
