Awww, isn't it cute <pinches wing and gives it a shoogle>, very lovely Wul, I bet you're chuffed and have had the Meguires on it already!!!

Wul
9th March 2004, 06:07 PM
:IShucks Thanks Guys!:I

We/I'm well chuffed - got a pic of the old and new together at the dealer but will have to wait till the Missus gets her camera developed before posting it!:I

<puts on best robert duvall accent> I Love the sound of a supercharger in the morning!:D A cool noise it is too!

As for the waxing - come on now guys - that is this weekends job, it was my anniversary afterall!:p

Ken - will post up more pics of the interior if you want - any in particular?

Really like the chrome line exterior on the S - here at work most people thought i'd changed the number plates over on the Coop!;)

Have to say the new steering wheel is 100% better in the flesh and like the new shaped parts for your hands. The playstation controls built into it are fun too!:p;)

Now all that remains is to put the ICE into it (including a new bit of kit - all will be revealed in due course) and the meguiars treatment and we're there:approve:

Just put loads of pics in your gallery Wul :)

How do you find the ride quality on the 17s compared with your Cooper?

Wul
9th March 2004, 07:08 PM
It is harder Ken but not that much more - but the handling improvement is noticeable - the steering feels more responsive and the Calder Roundabouts are now even more fun ;):D

Only 1180 miles till the supercharger gets to come out to play for real!;):p

If you like the chrome lines, may I suggest the chrome pollen vent surrounds, finally fitted mine on saturday after forgetting for about 8 months, and I love them, they just look fantastic!!!:D

Wul.

Good work, i bet your as high as an Amsterdamese & footer in drag with 12" heels on!!! I know i still am [;)]

Even after a new windscreen and a severely scrapped alloy (thanks to a 70 year old guy in a gimp suit who can't stay in lane!), i still love my MCS and just want to be driving all the time - granted i need to sleep a few hours every night. shame really.

Very nice Wul - apart from the manky mats

Never seen an S with the silver dash before. Did you not like the Alloy patina style?

As to the weather - doesn't look too good http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=1808
but then they often get it wrong for this part of the world.

What's the gadget on the LHS of the boot?

LOL! The joys of being a Surveyor on Roads Jobs! That's why i've got those mats there! New ones in the post from the dealer as a freeby so the manky ones are available if your wife has changed her mind about them!:p;)

Nope - really don't like the alloy patina - especially in the door elipses! It was funny, as when I ordered the silver - the saleswoman had to check it was available on the S and the other salesman tried to convince me it might affect my resale value - Aye Right!:clown: Plus everyone has AP in their S and I don't!:approve:

As for the weather - well who knows!

The gadget on the left is my new toy - a blaupunkt (sp!) active subwoofer - fitted it last night! doesn't take up a lot of room and gives the JVC a bit more oomph! And can be removed easily to get to the battery! Got it on ebay for half price!:) Only problem is the dreaded MCS amp whine problem at low volume so may need to call on Mikeythemini's advice - again!

KenL
11th March 2004, 11:15 PM
Nae chance on wifey changing her mind on the mats I'm afraid.

On the whine through the stereo do you think it is associated with the S only? Could be to do with the position of the battery I suppose.

Does it only happen when you've got your pimpin' bass thumper on? :p

Have you got a decent earth return on it? Try beefing up that wire, keeping it short and connecting it to the body of the car, if that don't work try connecting it to the return of the battery itself since it's close. Failing that I'm sure Mikey can supply something to supress it.

Wul
11th March 2004, 11:25 PM
Bummer on the mats! LOL! ;)

Have read a lot of threads on MINI2 and the problem seems to be more common the S's but not unique to them!

Yes when the pimping bass thumper is on the whine happens - disconnect the activation lead to the amp and it goes, no matter if the RCA cables are plugged in, run separately from the power or disconnected!

Sounds great when the car isn't running! ;)

The unit is earthed direct to the - terminal to the battery! The + is from the battery too! So not really sure how to solve the problem! Have put a thread up on MINI2 so we'll see how it goes!

That probably matches up well with DS right enough just like Wul's chrome bits and silver will match well.
