View Full Version : 'July Jolly' Sun 27th July

ianking
17th January 2008, 08:28 PM
The run formerly known as 'June Jolly' will now be 'July Jolly'

Pretty similar to last year except fingers crossed it doesnt rain with the same ferocity as it did last year and cause the idiot at the front in the grey mini to take the wrong turning.

Date this year will be Sunday the 27th July.

We will be going for lunch at Carriages again unless there are any peoples that particularly dont want to go there but they were great at accommodating us last year, i.e our own car park and our own room within the restaurant.

So get yer names down if you fancy a good day out with good scenery, good banter and good food.

thread from last year (http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=11038)

MEETING TIME WILL BE 10.30 am FOR AN 11 am DEPARTURE.
SOMMERFIELD CAR PARK PENICUIK EH26 8LE

Cheers

Beautiful Weather, Beautiful Scenery, Beautiful Cars... and let's not forget all you Beautiful People! Maaaaaaaaaaan. And home in time for tea. Many thanks Ian and Sarah for another Fab 'Jolly'. Lunch as good as ever too. Bumble - I was going to wave 'Cheerio' when we left Penicuik, but you disappeared, so you'll just have to accept it by proxy. Just think, about this time the prat in the audi will be trying to T-Cut the pasenger side of his car and realising he needs a two grand respray. Revenge is ours sayeth the NMS.

I'm off now to listen to some 'Traffic' or 'Free' and drink 4 pints of Boots 'After Sun' in a vain attempt to put out the approaching inferno that is my sunburned napper. Then I'm going to try to clean the insect massacre off the front of my car... Love & Peace Y'all, till next time.

Back home safe and sound after another great day. Ian and Sarah, you did a great job, big thanks from the Weefossies.

Will need a new tyre, as I have damaged the side wall of the front near side. Must have been that rock on the tight left hander. The tyre isn't torn but there is a bulge on the side wall and there's me thinking I got away without any damage to the alloy. "C'est la vie"

Great foties everybody.

Nice to meet you David & Fiona - Keep On Rockin'!!!

Malcolm - bummer about your tyre - sounds familiar, exactly the same one as me on the last run. To top it all, I discovered a big Phillips screw in my equally new back near-side tyre a week later..... £224.00 in tyres in two weeks and two almost new Goodyears scrapped, it would make ye greet, still at least mine are only 16's! Your tyre at least gave its life for a good cause - The July Jolly.
