Rob, can you put me down for the run? Due to workload and self-catering booking traumas, I'm now not going on holiday till the 30th, so I'll be picnicking - that's guaranteed at least a monsoon.

I'm totally rubbish at food, so I'll see what I can do - probably a sandwich from the Shell Garage. See Ya. Check your PM's (like I never do....)

Cracking day out again with NMS. Well Done Rob and Christine.

We even made Granny and Grandpa cry.... :thud::Whistle:

Good to meet some newbies - hope you all enjoyed yourselves and will be back.

My casualty today was my windscreen which got hit by a rock and I thought it was coming thro it hit that hard. :frown: New windscreen for me then... :argh:

Must say thanks to Colin and his Dad for fitting my new spots and lovely stainless lamp bar yesterday and providing me with lunch ;). I think any of you that saw it today will agree that it is a fabulous bit of engineering and perfection. :thumbs up::thumbs up:

Me and Sarah had an awesome day today. Just wanted to say thanx for making us feel welcome and chatting away to us:D. We'll be on some runs in the near future I think, but may need to get a cooper S to keep up with everyone.

I have some pics but not really sure how to post em?

Its only on the straights you need an S, Coopers are every bit as good on the twisty roads, and Ones.

BIG THANKS to Rob & Christine for the run, that was the best Picnic yet - and, as the Bishop said to the actress, 'What a fabulous Spread!'. (that one's for Jason).

Thanks also to Siobhan & Malcolm for the food and the Nurofen which kept the dreaded lurgy at bay. Siobhan - got a full sequence of photos of your 'presentation', but haven't figured out how to post them - so you're safe, for now... And remember, the champers is not for the goodies you bring, but for the goodies you ARE!

Hope you had a Merry Birthday William - the cake was great, I could go another bit now. Well done to young Neil for surviving as my passenger - I was being quite careful because of feeling a bit 'off-colour' and not wanting to upset his folks by crashing into a field with their son. Apologies Neil if my conversation was a wee bit limited at times, I was concentrating on the road!

Hope everybody else had a good time, oldies and newbies. S*d about the windscreen Craig - been there (my car's on its third) - still at least it died 'on duty'. Hope it gets sorted OK and also Andy's wing mirror which bit the dust in the same fashion.

I Just got the car cleaned up tonight and the rain came on - but at least we had a dry day. The sun shines on the righteous they say...... so which one of you out there is that then? Won't see you on the Borders Run, but I'll catch you later. Unless you're in the new Factory Works S.

Great day. Big thank to Rob and Christine.:thumbs up:

Also, a big thanks to Mum and Dad for feeding us all.:thumbs up::D

Happy Birthday to William, thanks for the piece of cake it was brill.:D

GPandy - hope you get your mirror fixed OK and thanks for the seat in your car, those seats are :thumbs up:.

Craig, hope you get your window replaced soon, at least it missed the bodywork. And, yes your spots and bar look .

See you all on the Borders Run in a couple of weeks.

This could be a long post, :computer:

Rob & Christine you set up yet another great run and you are sooo lucky with the weather. One of you must be the “righteous one”, Elfman was referring to! :yes nod: And Christine your sticky toffee pudding was up there with the best….. and I should know.

William, happy birthday oh special one. By the time I joined in everyone had finished singing. Nice cake.

Craig if that stone fired up from our car (we were in front of you most of the time) I really am sorry mate, not that we were ever going that fast!!

Big thanks to everyone for the present, you made Granny really happy. We will enjoy the Champers tomorrow. She really does enjoy feeding the masses; I always said I should have bought her a “Greasy Joes” van in a lay-by somewhere……..the Outer Hebrides. :D

And as for the hat, well she’s still got it on and I have pictures of going to bed tonight……Doh!....., don’t go there Dad.

Andy P do you think we could get discount on GP seats if we put in a bulk order. They are the business and I could finally get rid of my “booster seat”.

Anybody, post up some pictures please, I didn't get time to take my camera out today.

Great to see everyone and looking forward to the Borders Run, with some more sunshine.

Well what can I say.

What a great run. I really enjoyed giving the car a good rev along those roads. My cooper was keeping up with Robs JCW S no probs. :D Its all about the driving eh.

The lunch stop was great. I enjoy these sociable stops. We were especially lucky with the weather.
Mum and Dad brought far too much food as usual but it was ace. Im still stuffed.

Bad luck to Andy with the GP wing mirror but at least it never hit the cars paintwork. When I came round the corner I saw the red thing on the road in the distance and I thought it was a sheeps head. I was half expecting to see a GP with a half sheep for a mascot.
Bad luck to Craig with your window but at least it happened on a mini run and not the commute to work.

I now hate wasps even more and I must appologise to those that thought I was going to do a full strip tease dance. You may be in luck next time though. ;)

See everyone in 2 weeks at the Borders run. Cant wait.

So is the exact spot you had your picnic in the pics on this B797 road? Its not an area I’ve driven in at all but don’t think you could have picked a better place for your picnic…..First thought when I go on a run is to head north to Fortwilliam or Oban.

Have to keep it in mind, used to stay down that way at a School Cottage near
Newton Wamphray well you remmember things like that when you’re a teen……….we all wanted a bit of Wamphray back then…..but it was close to Lockerbie as we used to head in there at night for chips in the Mini bus.

thanks for the info....

We'll be on some runs in the near future I think, but may need to get a cooper S to keep up with everyone.

Emmmmmmmmm no you don't sir :D

A) Coopers are better on the twisties - Superchargers weigh a 'tonne' thus affecting the handling, therefore we are simply better ;)

B) Any 'tool' can press a pedal to go faster in a straight line

C) John & Bonnie Scotland/The Gaffer (who kinda know a thing or 2 about cars/MINI's) have both said & I quote "the Cooper is best" :yes nod:

D) I believe them :D (cos I've got a Coop)

E) End of :thumbs up:

I have to agree with most people. The cooper handles great on the corners I just felt I needed a little more go on the straights and since I am maybe getting a second car an S makes sense, plus there are more parts for the S than the cooper.

Can't wait til the manky thrash now:D
