Anyone seen this mod being discussed on NAM?

Its a front light mod....where you take apart your front light assembly...and paint the insides the colour of your choice.

It involves you having to bake the light assembly in your oven.

This looks nice:

And in Silver...(love the graphics on this one!!!)

I think you would have to have a light coloured car...

Here's the thread on NAM:

That is quite nice.

The 1 millionth mini which is a pepper white R56 cooper S has the inside of the light housing painted black gloss and it looks good. When I saw it at the factory back in April it was the first time I had seen something like this done.

I think pepper white is my favorite "colour". There's a pepper white S in my area....and my neck breaks when it passes. It has an aerokit and some light graphic work.

If I were to buy a tin top 53...it would have to be a pepper white. (Yeah we hear you Pacman:rolleyes: )

Not sure if I would want to risk sticking my HID lights in the oven with the Turkey though:eek:

I like that mod.. definitely makes the cars stand out..
<goes to check if there's any BEP spray tins in the garage> ;)

Just a touch..They had to be imported from the States when I was looking - at a set with the hyper black spokes - and were around £1200 for a set without tyres..:(

..without shipping or any import taxes..

Its OK, Ken, I'm not too keen on the silver MINI.
Looks like its been given a hiding and now has black eyes.

The white is ok-ish - though it looks a wee bit like they've leaked and filled up with water.

I don't like the de-chromed look all that much...I still think you need chrome around the light...but I think the white inside the lights is subtle and works with a white car.

I really like some of those.

Like Duncan say's the white one looks like it's half filled with water, so I'm not so keen on that one. But the others with the de-chromed look are spot on. the silver and black with the black checks going up the side is very nice indeedy. But I would rip that daft scoop off and put the original back on, but in black - obviously.

Like others have said, it works best with light colours. Wouldn't work at all with our Blue or Red.

Haha,

I have been copying this dudes car ever since I got mine. He is from Germany and can be found on www.newminiclub.nl (http://www.newminiclub.nl) . Theres a 30 page thread on his car from the first day until present

My future plans are to colour code, get it a tad lowered and get myself of "pre-joeyed" angel eye headlights

The Wheels are ASA AR1's and are actually not too pricey! I would die for a set of deep dish's...ahwell theres always next year.

Yeh Ivano thats the one! I think its sitting at around 60mm or something ?

Guys, you need to get yourselfs onto www.motoringunderground.com (http://www.motoringunderground.com)

Motoring underground is a sight dedicated to "Mini Modders" and you will find loads of inspiration on there. Here is an example of a thread below.

I visit MU and Nam from time to time...good reading on those sites....but I do spend a lot of time thinking GOD NO!!!! :D

Don't know if I would want to risk my lights on a mod like this to be honest. As most of the threads on the "Joey mod" suggest you should have the money to buy new lights if it goes wrong.

Don't think it would suit my mota anyway...but a PW...mmm:cool:

What's with the fashion for removing the rear wiper, how daft is that?

I'm not so sure they have the same problems with rain collecting on the rear screen like we do, but, as you say, why remove it, it does look different though

Its not that daft in California where it hardly ever rains...and the car get covered in dust and grit. One of the reasons they remove it is because the grit that is trapped between the wiper and the glass acts as sandpaper and scratches the glass. I've heard loads of guys complaining about this over on NAM. They reckon its because of the angle of the rear glass.

Of course, some do it for looks. I've been able to live without a rear wipe without any problems.....yet;)

I have noticed small scratches on my rear screen when washing and drying the car. But i suppose it is not surprising considering the amount of dirt that gets kicked up on the back of our cars... The MINIS seem particularly bad for this compared to other cars you see on the road.

The no rear wiper mod looks good but not very practical over here right enough. I like cars that have been flushed and smoothed out a very subtle modification. I am not into big spoilers and bodykits....

Here is another pic i found with no rear wiper or spoiler. I don't know if it is just me but at the back these cars look a bit more like the Classic Mini shape. I think it is the lack of spolier that does it.. Does anyone see it? Or it could still be the alcohol in my system from yesterday....:D :D

Have to agree with you on the classic mini likeness, i quite like the mini badge being where the wiper arm was
