So, Alonso is off and the rumour mill has started.

I'm split in where he'll end up. Could he go to Williams (who have a seat free) where he can spend a year in a reasonably competitive car, and then go to Ferrari the year after when Kimi's contract there runs out? (there is also a rumour that as part of his severance he can only drive for a non-manufacturer backed team, so this might then make sense)

Would he go to Honda, who are rumoured to be on the verge of sacking Rubens? Can't see it.

Would he go to Renault, swap for Kovaleinen? Very possibly.

McLaren would love with Heiki or Nico in the team, both are fast, young drivers who look to have a championship in them, so it does look like a Williams or Renault seat for the moody one.

Anyone else?

Heard Red Bull is most likely place for a year...then onto Ferrari...

Bet McLaren are glad to see the back of the moody spoilt brat...

Alonso leaving Mclaren will certainly open the flood gates for the moves on who will go where nwxt year. Whose seat would he get at Red Bull?, if that's where he goes. DC's contract has been extended.

Lot's of stories that it would be Webber.

Which inevitably leads to stories about Webber in a McLaren.

Isn't Flavio Briatore Alonso's manager?? If so then Renault would be most likely.
