Hi there. Just a wee note to say hello to everyone and also thank Alan/BonnieScotland and Calum/Monsta_mo_mini_member, who helped me get my account activated after having a couple small problems.

All is well now though. :)

Myself and the other half have been considering changing her TT, for a new Mini One as the MPG is getting the better of her, as she does a few whiles due to her job.

Not yet ordered a car, but we were possibly going to try Douglas Park or Harry Fairbairne for a part exchange deal, whilst taking the rest out on finance. Anyone have any views about these dealers, or recommend somewhere else?

Thanks
Dave

Welcome to the site, finally, can't help you with the dealer, but, you could try through in Stirling with Menzies, one of our site sponsors :)

Thanks. :D

Been into Menzies a couple times so far. Last time was Sunday to see about a test drive, but there was 1 salesman in and he had just taken a woman out for a test drive and had another family sitting waiting on him. We were probably there for about twenty minutes and reckoned it would be at least 45 mins before we were seen to. :( Figured a dealer would have more people working than that on a weekend, but i thought maybe someone had called in sick or something.

Who would be the man to see and i'll maybe phone up to sort out a test drive?

Go and see Victoria at Eastern. Ive bot a couple cars from Menzies before and quite a few from Eastern and the next time I will be going back to Eastern. Far better at Eastern in my opinion.

Isn't Clare a womans name mate?

Ian, Eastern is a bit far for me as i'm from Alexandria. Ok Menzies isn't a lot better, but dunno if warranty claims need to go back to supplying dealer?

Hi there, thanks.

We'd be wanting to see about a deal probably on Sunday. We had a cmissed call from a girl we spoke to at your branch. Can't remember her name unfortunately, but she was young, dark hair and mentioned she hadn't been there long?

Hate to say it, but, let's keep the sales side off the forums to be fair to the actual sponsor's, PM's are best ;) , unless HB wants to become a sponsor of the site :)

:)

2002 180hp version in silver with black leather. Mileage is kicking 76k though. Great car and has done her well for over a year now, but the mpg is getting to her now and trying to get something new for the same value plus a bit is kinda difficult. Especially as she still loves the cars looks, performance and quality.

Half thought about selling my car as well, to fund an S, but can't find it in my heart to do that yet. :D

Well we're not getting a Mini any time soon.....£8700 for the gf's TT, as a part exchange. :( Never had the energy to go to Harry Fairbairne today, but will go next weekend, though i think AutoTrader is a calling.

You need to take a step back, if you were offered £8,700 for px then thats a good price. If its not enought ok, but if you think you will get much more then think again.

A deaer will want to stick min £1000 on the car, probably £1,500. He needs this to run his business. Means its going on his forecourst for £10,000-£10,500. for a 2002 180 TT.

Have a look on Autotrader for what they are going for right now.

Good luck

Similar cars i have found are going for 11.5-12k from a dealer and i should easily be able to get 10.5k.

I'm in the trade myself and had looked at a Glass's guide prior to turning up so i knew rough what to expect. At 8700 though, it falls short.

If your talking Audi dealers then yes sure £10.5k against a £20k car.

But a non fanchise dealer would not give you £10.5k for the car, especially with that mileage.

Always worth trying another dealer you never know, squeeze another £1000 out them and get yourself a slice of mini magic.

To be fair I dont think you will get £10.5K for it either.

My dad traded his TT in at a main Audi dealer for a new £32k TT back in July and got only £10.2k for a 225bhp Quattro, full leather, bose sounds, with only 31k miles. Remember that was 4 months ago.

drb5374

I ment selling it privately. And no, i don't think any dealer would give me 10.5k, but 8700?? They're sure to stick 2 grand ontop of that and sell it.
