OK...I was told that if something was repaired under warranty by BMW...the repair was only covered by the original warranty period. i.e. there was no extension over the warranty period for that repair.
Is this the case?
Yes...its my roof again...there are holes starting to form and fibres broken on the roof cloth in the well known places.
The roof was only replaced a matter of weeks ago...and the bloody car is only used at the weekend!
How many times do you reckon the roof has been down with a recent weather?
Thanks!

Mark, I thought (I will probably stand corrected) that any warranty repair where new parts had been used were covered for a year (ie the parts used are warranted for a year)
that would mean that your roof cloth which was replaced should still be covered? maybe someone with more info on the basis of the warranty can shed some light on this, but that was certainly my understanding.

When I got alloys replaced by BMW under warranty I was also told that the warranty runs out with the original warranty...and not a year from when they were fitted.

Mark, did the guy from MINI not tell you that he would "look after you" with regards to this problem? I'm sure you said that in one of our chats.

Mark, all parts replaced under warranty are only covered for the remainder of the manufacturers warranty period, i know thats not what you want to hear but maybe a call to customer services may resolve this issue (just a suggestion). If however "YOU" purchase a part and have it fitted it is covered by BMW / Mini 2 year warranty cover.

Not getting at you Chris, but that is a total con.
Someone has numerous roofs fitted throughout the warranty period and then they are waved goodbye to, when all along the problems have been caused by a cr*p design or sub-standard retrofit work by the dealer.
