was registered to Colin McRae not sure exactly what the situation is According to another forum a posters father's cousin (bear with me lol) spoke to someone who was on the scene and confirmed it was McRae and his 8 year old son. Lets hope that's wide of the mark.

What the heck is going on with helicopters these days:eek: First we lost Steve Hislop who risked his neck for years at the IOM TT races and then dies in a stupid helicopter crash now Colin McRae:( Its just not fair. Plus Richard Burns passing away. It indeed has been a sad few years for losing great motorsport personalities:(

Another tragic loss. I still remember the loss of Graham Hill in a plane crash and I have similar emotions over this latest news.

Absolutely tragic. Such a talented fella with so much to look forward too and Scotland doesn't have many people they can call real world champions. His family must be completely devastated, not least at the loss of Colin, but also his son as well who, by all accounts, was a talent for the future of Scottish motor racing.

Noticed on the news that the Scoobie Owners Club have laid a wreath at the scene. Sad day indeed.
