Having got used to the loud alarm that tells me I only have 100 miles worth of petrol left (scared me witless the first time it went off!), I was surprised by an apparently random 'bonging' alarm this morning. I braked pretty sharply as I realised a big truck who looked likely to give way to me had decided against the idea. "Bong-bong" "bong-bong" said the car. No lights on the dash, no further warnings of impending doom, no clue! Whatever could it be? Answers on a post-card, please!

Its the bongometer, its a common enough fault.
Take it to you dealer and they will re-set the peramiters of it for you.

Ha ha. All checks I can do come up fine and it hasn't done it since. I didn't pay the extra for A/C, let alone a Bongometer, so it can't be that.;)
