What should i buy?

I have just got my self a new hd ready tv. At first i was going to get a HD DVD player to go along side it. But then i heard a bit about this new blu ray thingmybob. Does any one have any of these, what is blu ray thingmybob? and what should i buy? :confused: :confused:

Waiting for a reasonably priced combi player.
How long that will be I don't Know.
But somebody on on here will no doubt know.

Gordon, really not a clue when a combi player will come out - if ever.

Paramount and Dreamworks pulling out of Blu Ray is very bad news. The fact is, that now leaves only Sony as a major studio supporting the Blu-Ray format. Warner Bros. support both but I can see that only lasting so long.

I'm not saying I would definitely go for a HD DVD player - not just yet - honestly, I would hold onto your cash for just now. I think a jump to a dedicated Blu-Ray player would be a big mistake, a jump to a dedicated HD DVD player may be a bit quick, and a hold off to see which one fails and which one wins - or indeed, if a combi player ever appears - would be the best bet.

Couldn't possibly comment :rolleyes: way too early to make a decent suggestion, LG i think have a dual player, but, prices are scandalous anyway, even i'm waiting for a price drop ;)
You could always combine the PS3 for your blu-ray........
