Anyone see the programme on BBC4?

An interesting 3 part documentary about how the Motorways came about in the UK.

Loved the classic 50's newsreels with the empty roads, lack of speed limits, and central crash barriers

Its repeated again tonight, (01:10) and parts 2 and 3 tomorrow and Thursday at 21:00

The RAC partol guy had some good stories:D
He reconed in one day he attended 8 breakdowns all of the same car, all with the same failure......their big ends had gone due to the constant stress of sustained high speeds of 50mph:eek: Thankfully thing have moved on a bit.....well mechanically anyway:rolleyes: :D

well while being recovered on Sunday the AA guy told us.

He mainly recovers Range Rovers Disco's and Freelanders oh and Nissan X trails. I guess these guys will have a good insight on what is a reliable car and what isn't.:D

Either they are unreliable or the owners can't find the spare wheel strapped to the boot :D
