As the ER5 pumps out a okish 48 BHP and the Bandit 650s puts out 85BHP, with a mere weight of 215kg,

the Bandit will give a fair kick.

Well, what a day, picked up the bike, went for a spin around Aberdeen, everything perfect, decided i needed a neck warmer thing to keep my neck warm for the motorway ride home, hmm, whilst setting off from the shop some twats roared down the street almost knocked me off the bike, but, sadly, the force of the closeness pushed me over, i couldn't support the weight and down it went
19 mils on the clock, fairing lightly scuffed, bust front indicator, clutch lever and rear foot peg
Thanks to the shop though, they "borrowed" spares off another bike and got me going again.
Of course the twats disappeared, any way, i live to fight another day, no harm to me, just hugely embarrassed that it happened, but, that's it, rock on
So, i won't have to worry about scraping it now, it's all done, i reckon i actually got off lightly :o

Yep, shaft driven, no chain to oil, but i guess more expensive to maintain in the long run  :)

I'm no bike person (like to have one, missus would kill me!) but how on earth can a bike be shaft driven? How does that work?

Instead of a chain and sprocket set, you have a shaft, like a propshaft on a rear wheel drive car, but, for a bike it's totally enclosed for lubrication purposes

Perhaps you should change your user name to "shorttiecoop":D

I will post the photos soon to show people you are now much taller than first thought, it must be the biker boots:)

Maintainance free, you will have no worries, the chances are it will run on the shaft longer than you on those rumoured short pins ;)
