I mentioned this to my Dad during the week. He told me he thought that plugs are now illegal in this country....so maybe worth checking.

He also told me that this is not at all a new idea....40 years he was getting plugs put in tyres.

He said that the best thing to do is over inflate the tyre....then shove in the plug...and deflate the tyre. This insures a good seal.

I believe the plug is sticky as well as having a large part inside the tyre.

Could get you home though!
