Removing the badge

What's it take to remove the name from the rear of the car and would I be left with a mess of paint or a clean finish under the letters?

Which badge? The One / Cooper / S one? or the Mini badge?


The Cooper / One / S one are just stuck on with sticky pads, so they should be quite easy to get off if you're careful.. DOn't use a screwdriver!! :eek:;) and any sticky residue should come off with a bit of white spirit... or maybe a solution of washing up liquid..

Heat it up with a hair dryer, pull it off (Oh missus) and remove any stickiness with WD40. Job's a good 'un!:)

Dental floss is good for slicing the badges off after you have heated them slightly.

Careful rubbing off the sticky bits as there be a small piece of dirt/grit stuck in there.

Use tar and glue remover after you have removed the badge. This dissolves the sticky stuff. Dry it off then give it a wee polish.

Just re-read that to my self and it does sound a wee bit dodgy.:p

Boil the kettle, hold it under the badge, the steam should shift it. Or pour warm water over it ;)

If all else fails use a taymar blowtorch

A small explosive charge would also shift the badge, might leave the paintwork needing a little T-Cut though :p

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunatly I don't own an sngle gringer or blow torch or small explosive charges so I'll just have to use the hair drier approach.:D
