KJ...you hit it right on the nail...its a black MINI...and I don't think you can do too much before it starts to get silly looking.

I maybe thought I had crossed the line with the silver scoop???

Still like the black look...

Thanks for the advice!

Don't like the different colour scoop. Looks very Halfords to me.
Mirrors are OK though.

Mark, I tend to agree with Duncan S on this one. Not sure if they both look a wee bit halfords-ish. Would Chrome not have been a better idea?

Car's still looking fantastic mind.;):D

Hi Andy...I think chrome scoops look like a Halfords add on...thats why I went for same colour as my wheels...

Now if my wheels had been anthracite..I think I may have had less of a problem with this...but I just had the wheels refurbed.

I will live with them for a wee while...easily changed back if they start to bug me...

May add another pic in the next post....hmmm

Thanks! :D

I agree with Duncan mate. Like the mirror caps but the scoop looks better in black. In my very humble opinion. :)

Looks good.:D

However here is my problem and question:

Why do you have a air freshner hanging from the rear view with the top down on car.? ;):p:p:p:kiss:

Mark, the halfords type chrome scoop's really do look halfordsy! But the genuine MINI/JCW chrome scoop looks much nicer. It's the contrast between the shiny-grey look of your painted scoop and the chrome around the grille and head lamps that makes me think it's not the best match. However, like Craig say's it's what you like that matters.

Ah, what the heck do we know..... we ended up putting far too much chrome on our MINI, which is why we took most of it off.8)

Well...I went in to work today...and I showed my Dad the pictures. There was the usual funny look that incorporates a furrowing of the brow and a eery silence. I get this from him from time to time when he doesn't like a decision I've made. You people will no doubt be privy to similar experiences with parents. :blackeye:

Eventually he said "Aye...I liked it all black...wing mirrors are OK...not sure about the scoop"

Anyway, later this afternoon...I brought the car round to the workshop to repair one of my halolights. Had to pot rivet some aluminium angle on to the body of the lights as all the brackets had broken. (Plastic fatigue???). So I drove into the courtyard and my Dad was sitting in the van having a cup of tea.

He jumped out of the van and said "Oh!...I really like it...the silver has brightened up the car and fits in nicely...the photographs don't do justice"

The guy working in the next unit came over and said..."Had to come over and tell you how much I like your new mirrors and scoop" I saw the car last week for the first time...and thought it was stunning....now its even better!"

One of the guys that stays in a house near by did the same...he has just bought a brand new Z4...and loved the scoop...and started to ask about the wax I was using.

So there you are no further forward really:D

I must admit...the scoop is growing on me too.

Maybe I will stick with it for a while...

Thanks to all those who have given there comments

A load of NMS guys seen it on Sunday at Knockhill...and I was told it looked better in the flesh...so what they were saying is that my photography is crap!:clown:
So...they were either being very nice...or lying:p hmmm

It only takes 5 minutes to put it back the other way....so I may go for all black in the winter;)

Err...but mines are painted with silver paint...not chrome?

The chrome looks good on the Blue S's though...hunt about for a pic of Marky C's car (and Craig's???)
