Well the Audi A2 will be going tomorrow, a great wee car but not good for the long commute between Aberdeen and Durham. I've decided to go for the sensible option and I'll be picking up a dull diesel tomorrow.
That's if you can call a 3.0 V6 diesel a sensible option......:p

What kind of car are you getting. Im guessing something like an A6 if its got a V6 diesel in it.

I wish, its 6 months old got 2k on it and its a <hangs head in shame>
A Vauxhall Vectra SRI, it set me back £12,500.

I bet it was about £20K new though, downside is though that it will keep dumbling in price for a couple years yet.

Not too worried I'll be putting on 25k a year at least so if it lasts me 5 years I'll be happy

Norm, its a good car but I wanted a VX220. I'll just have to wait until I get a job down south.

Given my track record I'll pass on that one :) Still, I'm looking forward to picking it up tomorrow.
If I get bored I suppose I could get it chipped, Angel Tuning are doing a remap that brings the power up to 220bhp and 500 torque whatits. That'll hold my interest for a while.

And you thought this might be a good car for a long commute between Aberdeen and Durham!! Lol :D
Have you tried getting in and out of one of those? lets just say you better not be in any sort of a hurry to get anywhere because it'll take a little while to get in and then get out of it... :D:p

Sort of, I thought it would be a car I'd be happy to keep for a long long time, that way I'd happily invest in new bits for it to keep it on the road. I just decided that it would be too extreme even for a petrol head like me.

Well here's what you get for 12,500: -

Its a 3.0 litre V6 Diesel with only 2.5k miles, I wasn't really expeting too much from the car but its a pleasant surprise. It's very quiet, smooth and rides really well. Feels really well put together, OK it's not an Audi but it just feels really solid. I've done a few miles on the motorway and it seems to be averaging about 45mpg at a steady 70mph. Plenty of torque and power 185bhp and 400 torques whatever they are. Top speed is 143mph and 0-62 is 8.2, OK is still a rep mobile, but its a good one......

This is what it must be like to come out the closet.......... I also have a Vectra!!:disapprove::disapprove: It is a 1.9CDTi 150bhp Estate LX which gives it A/C, Alloys and CD!! Yeah I know you are all really jealous:D
I do have a genuine reason for it though.. it tows my Mini Race Car to all the tracks!!!;) It is also quite handy for an Ikea shop which is quite handy too but I like the first reason far more.
I have a big Knockhill rear window sticker so people know that I'm not a pikey caravaner!!:D:D:D lol

Seriously though...it has to be diesel for silly millage. Also I think bigger cars are safer and probably more comfortable.
That was a good deal for £12.500...it is a nice looking motor!
Happy motoring!

We have a duel fuel astra 1.6 at work. Its a 54 plate and i think its still got some of its original (and probably bug%er*d unleaded) as its almost always running on cheap cooncil LPG.
