What size of tyre did you put on your 18" alloys NON runflat

and why

205/40/18

or

215/35/18

seems to me the 215's are easier to get in NON runflat.

oh and what make nothing to £££££ but decent grip and low road noise.

Fi for me it would always be the 215/35's for 18's :approve: I've always thought 215's were easier to come by and the 35 gives the tyre that crackin' 'rubber band' look :approve::approve::p;)

Fi, same here, 215/35/18 - better choice of tyre and as Marky says, looks :cool:

I have toyo Proxes on (as does my sister on her 18's) and they are great in all conditions and don't seem noisy on the road..:approve::approve:

215/35 here, mostly because I couldn't find 205/40 non-runflat.

I had Yokohama Parada's on, brilliant in the dry, crap in the wet. Now got Toyo Proxes on, stacks of grip. I'm wondering how long i'll get out of a set, 10k out of the Yoko's...:p

John me thinks that they tyre guy is talking p!sh

It's nothing to do with the rims being run flat it's the tyres that are run flat not the flippin rims  You should be able to fit any tyres you want to your rims ;)

i've also got a gp and changed my 205/40/18 dunlop runflats to 205/40/18 michelin ps2 non-runflat. BMW said it was a big no no. but as has been said before they are full of p!sh. tbh not 1 dealer has any idea about the gp.
only got a couple of thousand miles out of the runflats and they are useless in the wet. no-difference in the dry tbh.
personally wouldn't put 215/35's on, have had differing feedback.

keep us posted on your tyre choice, will give me an idea on what tyres to go for next!

225/35 will almost certainly cause problems i would have thought

215/35 sits close enough as it is

i wouldn't go for a set of 225/35's thats way to far off the manufacter's standard size. the michelin ps2's are good. great wet weather performance, very little to none tramlining. I've used the PS2 tyres before on different cars and they come standard on high performance cars, maserati, ferrari etc.
