Meet at Stirling Services from 10:30hrs, departure at 11:00hrs.
Lunch at Crieff Visitors Centre (details available here.... http://www.crieff.co.uk/restaurant.htm) This should cater for all tastes, so you should be able to find something you want to eat, or you could have a picnic in the car park. :D
Finish in Perth (Broxden Services by the McD/Harvester/Travel inn) at approx 17:00hrs
The route is 130 miles in length going along some nice narrow MINI roads and seeing some cracking scenery.

Craig, you've gotta go incorporate road which goes down the side of Loch Tummel to Pitlochry. The B8019. It's a great twisty road and the Poole Clan used to sail on Loch Tummel back in the day. Lots of memories.:D

I've just found out that I'm working a gig in Ireland the day/night before.
I don't know the exact arrangements yet....but if its an early flight home in the morning...I would still like to come along..or meet up en route.
Is that a problem for you...or would you like me to withdraw now (oer Missus)

Craig

25th July 2007, 01:32 PM
We've used the services car park a few times. never really felt we were in the way. But that was usually starting early Sunday morning, rather than finishing on a Sunday afternoon. The three runs that come to mind are Seany's run in Feb 2004, Jule's and Rob's run in August 2004, and the joint BMW forums NMS meet in 2005 or was that 2006?
Anyway, Seany's run had over 30 cars and it was fine.
And I'm guessing there won't be any toilets at the Park & Ride.:( :o

hi craig are you getting cool stickers made up as on the A+B runs,my windae could be doing with another cool sticker:p :D
Craig
31st July 2007, 08:38 AM
Sadly Toni, the stickers is a no go...:(
Our sponsor who used to do them for us, is no longer a sponsor and as such would mean that someone would have to pay for them.
I have paid for stickers once before, but thought it excessive to organise a run (with the costs involved with that) and then pay £70 for stickers out of my own pocket. :o
I also think it's not practical to ask everyone on the run to pay money to attend a run (to pay for stickers) as since I have been a member since 2003 this has never happened (to my knowledge anyway..) Scratch that, I did charge a small fee for stickers on the Oxford Run 2006..;)
Sorry Toni (and everyone else that looks forward to getting stickers on the bigger runs) but that's how it is..:o :( If the consensus is that there should be a charge for each run to cover stickers, then this may be introduced (with Calums approval obviously).

Mixed weather reports:
BBC News Weather (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=0375&links)
Metcheck.com (http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=Perth)
Metoffice.co.uk (http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ta/aberfeldy_forecast_weather.html)
None of them particularly pleasing. But it's the run thats fun. We don't need good weather to have a good time.;) :D

Crazy weather, but hey thats Scotland for you. It just adds more interest to the run. Great roads, will have to go back and drive some of them again, in my other car. ;) Nice to see everyone again and some new faces. And to those who didn't make it you missed a good one. Forgot my camera today, but I'm sure other folks will be along soon. Pics, Pics...
