HEART OF THE BORDERS 3.0 - SUNDAY 26TH AUGUST 2007

After the huge success of last years run we've decided to repeat this run again this year. This will be the third annual Heart Of The Borders Run - last year's run thread can be found here. (http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=7097)

The run consists of; gathering in Galashiels in the morning, a wee route round the Borders to the west out by Selkirk, the Ettrick and Yarrow valley's and Innerleithen, then back to Galashiels for lunch. In the afternoon, we head off to the east Borders and loop round by Kelso and up to Lauder, where we gather and have a chat and a pint (pint of coke for the drivers);) at the Lauderdale Hotel.:approve:

The past two years were really well attended (especially last year), and this year the list is open - no cap!

The only real change this year is that we will be starting in Galashiels at ASDA as Dunedin MINI in Selkirk has closed.:( Other than that, we can guarantee a great run around some fantastic quiet Borders roads. And if we can try and arrange the same weather as in 2005, we'll be roasting in temperatures of 31 Deg C!

Update: Start time confirmed as arriving at Asda Car Park, Galashiels at 10AM for a 10.30AM departure.

Starting to get a buzz about me for this years mini adventure's , something that has been missing from me for a while even with the new car, must just be the winter blue's , roll on a week on Satuarday to the clocks go forward then i can increase my cleaning fetish into the evenings:)

William, I guess you missed Malcolm's post on the Central Area Convoy Thread (http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=12456). He's suggesting you both meet up at Hermiston Gait, when the rest of the Central area troop arrive.

Suggest you head over to that thread and confirm if you are going to Hermiston Gait or just meeting in Tesco's.

TBH, I would suggest you do go to Hermi Gait 'cos that would save Craig leading about 17 MINI's into Tesco's car park and then back out again. If that's OK with you.;)

William, I guess you missed Malcolm's post on the Central Area Convoy Thread (http://www.newminiscotland.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=12456). He's suggesting you both meet up at Hermiston Gait, when the rest of the Central area troop arrive.

Suggest you head over to that thread and confirm if you are going to Hermiston Gait or just meeting in Tesco's.

TBH, I would suggest you do go to Hermi Gait 'cos that would save Craig leading about 17 MINI's into Tesco's car park and then back out again. If that's OK with you.;)

Smashing weather, we landed lucky. Great roads first time I've been on some of them. Some seriously fast stretches of road near the end of the run, all within national speed limits of course. :eek: :rolleyes: :D

Fantastic day in the Borders :D Huge thanks to the Pooles for organising such a belter of a day. Roads were superb, especially the last stretch where you could certainly stretch your right foot further down into the footwell than normal :eek: :D :D The weather was perfect and it was lovely to see everyone again and even better to see some new faces as well

Colin your 'other Mini' ;) was beautiful and the noise was superb (not as good as Tony Jac's though you understand :eek: ) Both you are your dad should be proud of what you achieved with it in such a short space of time with it :)

The afternoon session was superb, Ally enjoyed the bumps!

S**t run home today from Glasgow. A83 closed at Cairndow, many cars inc ourselves heading north on A82 , until a lorry crashed and blocked road between Tarbet and Crianlarich!
Back to Balloch, over Trossachs, Callender, Crianlarich then Oban.
Two mini runs in one weekend!
