Noticed this weekend that the screws on my wing mirrors on both sides (when the mirrors are folded in) are rusty!!! Anyone else with folding mirrors have this problem?

Is it something that can be changed/sorted under warrenty? The car was a year old on the 1st March. I mean i wouldnt expect something on a year old car to be rusting...

I remember this on my ONE. The bolts look like Aluminium. I wonder if you could replace them with Stainless Steel ones?

True, but it oxidises, like all metals. Only Iron rusts ;)

Having same problem with the spotlight nuts and spacers. Been trying to clean up the rusty bits using Autosol chrome cleaner/polish and the rust return in no time at all.

Anyone can help?

Anyone can help?Speak to your dealer as soon as possible and ask for replacements, assuming your car is covered under warranty

Unfortunately my Mini is over 3 years old and I bought it second-hand privately.

My 6month old ones are rusty (Yes Ken!) ie brown coloured oxidation;) - I remember having them changed under warranty almost every 6 months on my 02 plate cooper!

I would send that pic to MINI, see what they say - you never know.

I think they're very likely to say "Sorry, well out of warranty".

Probably, but it will only cost you a stamp, free if you email.
