JCW = expensive when you can get 190 for the new milteck alone i feel as ever jcw is gonna be to much for too little

Considering it's shooty-in to get power from a Turbo motor (eg current Focus ST etc), it WILL be interesting to see the JCW damage£££££..... no doubt the dreaded Warranty Paranoia will kick in.

I was waiting until the JCW kit came out before considering an order for an R56, but if that's all they're offering I'll not bother with another Mini :blackeye:
Let's hope there's more horses to come!

Given that this is stage 1, I'm sure there'll be more power on the way

theres nothing to say in the official press release that its the stage one or any stage for that matter, i hope this isn't their full efforts of an engine tuning kit as they could easily modify more of it for more power...

thats a lot of money for 15 bhp warrnty or not when for that much you can get 230bhp of the old R53 at GTT or lohen 190 ish for what will be near 1400 fittied i would have expected a bit more power

Sweeney & James.... although they say this is "Stage One", on Motoring File, I doubt there will be a Stage 2. I suspect stage two will end up being the standalone JCW car they are talking about for 2008 ish. The Stage One kit is just a stop-gap.
As for power, bear in mind the power to weight ratio and higher torque levels on the R56 makes it faster than a standard R53 anyway. So with 190bhp, I wouldn't be surprised if the Stage One modded R56 is as fast up to 62mph and even more importantly 40 to 70mph as the R53 JCW. Time will tell when they get the car out and test it.;)
