Joining the R56 Laser Blue S-Club.

Ordered today after negotiating a cracking deal with oooor Clare in Menzies.

The spec for those who are interested: (and I have to admit we have done a bit of a Scottiecoop on this one) :I;)

R56 Cooper S.
Laser Blue (mebbie), or it might be Pure Silver, Black Roof, Black Bonnet Stripes - The stripes are under question - may go for some form of graphics, so the stripes would go.

Just hope they get the gearbox issue sorted before ours is put together. Although with ours being an AUTO, it may not be an issue.;)

I know James, but MINI have restricted the sales of R56's to Laser Blue only. You can't order it in any other colour.:eek:;):D:D

Sounds great Andy, and what a massive spec, NICE. I love the sat nav on the new car but my purse strings (Sarahs voice in the back of my head) would not allow it.

Ok, we're both having second thoughts on the colour. We may go with Pure Silver, Black roof. Or may stick with our original idea of Laser Blue. Or maybe pure silver. But we love laser blue. But then silver was nice on our Cooper. But then laser blue is a lovely colour. But Pure Silver is......

well i would be very tempted to go for Oxygen Blue but only once I saw it in the flesh looking on the mini site it looks a great colour very retro.:cool: not much help that as it's not one of your colours:I:I mentioned and you can't get it in a S.

Have you seen an R56 in Pure Silver? I have to say, I didn't really like it somehow. I also don't think pure silver is an "S" colour somehow.

What about the other, rarer, classier :p blue - Lightning Blue.

Ken, Pure silver is across the range. Lightning Blue is ok, but a bit darker than we like. We have Hyper Blue just now and that is between Lightning (darker) and Laser (Lighter).

We did consider Chilli Red, but ditched it on the basis that it's not metallic; we love the metallic look and don't fancy spending hours keeping it clean.

Fi, the auto box is available on the Cooper and the S. Not sure if it will be available on the One when it is launched or not. And the Cooper gets the same box as the S - instead of the CVT box which it had previously. The CVT was OK, but I'm sure the proper 6 speed auto box will be much more fun to drive.

the hardest part of a mini is the choices i changed from chilli red to lighing blue to laser blue its not easy especially when your spending big bucks

Oh yes, I am very happy with my red/black - looks lovely.

It is tough to pick a colour, lots of nice colours.

I think the only colour I absolutely would not have is BRG, just can't click with that colour. My personal opinion, which no doubt is wrong :I

Well after much deliberation today we've decided to go for.....

Laser Blue with Black Roof. :approve::approve::approve: With the black bonnet stripes and the chrome mirror caps we think it will break the blue up and give the car a bit of a "mean" look.;)
