Ewan, imagine the bugs in his teeth in summer.
So what engine did you get? It's got to be at least 3.0 or it's a girls car

Col, does this mean you're going to leave NMS, or are you going to hang around like the rest of the saddos who don't have a mini anymore :p
Big Col
12th February 2007, 04:09 PM
Nah I aint going to leave NMS folks. I get the impression Z4 forums will be a bit less entertaining than this one. ;)
As for engine size I went for the the 2.5 engine VB but in my defence it is the SI Sport Roadster so 0-62 in 6.5 aint too bad.:) Also you had an MX5 and sold that to buy Barbie's Smart car so you've got to buy a Lambo next in order to get enough cred back to be allowed an opinion. :)
As for the giraffe pic, like it. :D

So Col when do we get to see some pics of this 2.5 Z4 then??? :D

Whenever it stops raining long enough for me to take a couple! :)
From the minute my butt touched the drivers seat it's been either raining/snowing/hailstones or a combination of all 3! :disapprove:

Ah, the 2.5 is quicker than I thought it was, it should have just enough and I mean just enough poke to stay ahead of that barbie car on the straight. However, a set of bends in the wet you'll be slower than KJ with his oversized wheels, unless of course you learn to slide that car of yours. It took me ages to get used to the MX5 sliding, beware roundabouts which had had a liberal dose of diesel?
Col, what colour did you get? I don't suppose they do the Z4 in yellow.......
Big Col
13th February 2007, 05:26 PM
Got it in dark blue mate. There's a Z4 roadster in John Clarks Dundee in their version of yellow. i.e. cat puke. Looks horrible!!!
Incidentally there are 2 versions of the 2.5 so you might have just seen the figures for the slower one before. :)

Think you'll find that the Z4 has four versions , two in the se and two in the sport version, with a good bit of difference in the bhp as well!!....and price ,as you'd expect!.Having been in and out of one over the last 4-5 months on a regular basis :p(2.0)I'd rather have my JCW to be honest ...the 2.5 might be a different kettle of fish .I'm not a big fan of soft tops anyway and find it noisy so that's a dampener for me , however ,in a straight line its a great car to drive .RWD does take a bit of getting used to again after have FWD cars for years .....RWD, and rear wheel slides are fun :approve::pand what a sports car should have .After saying that I like the car and its easy to drive as well, its all down to two or four seats at the end of the day and the coupe would be my choice if I had the money .Have fun Col as I'm sure you will and all ra best in the new motor ..Roll on Summer !!!!!!!:p

And I think you'll find that the 2.5i SE Roadster and the 2.5i Sport Roadster have exactly the same bhp and performance figures as each other. Similarly the the 2.5si SE Roadster and the 2.5si Sport Roadster have exactly the same bhp and performance figures, hence the reason I said "There are 2 versions of the 2.5" as I was talking about performance at the time. :approve:
As for the diff between the 2.0 and the 2.5 I test drove them both and there's a huge difference. The 2.0 is a 4 cylinder that sounds rotton, feels sluggish and is a bit of a damp squib. The 2.5 is a totally different beast as it's a 6 cylinder, sounds the dogs and goes some. :)

Glad you didn't get the dark grey colour, it makes the car look like a squashed rhino......

Another deserter eh!! Mmmmm, who mentioned dessert!!
Great choice, the Z4 is a beast of a toy (once you get to the 2.5 level!) and not that common!! RWD in a little rocket like that is bound to bring on many giggles! Always liked watching Jason Plato belting his round a circuit (his Z4 that is before LnL steps in!!) Enjoy, and who needs sunshine, just welly up the heaters and you'll be fine!!;):D:D:cool:
Big Col
13th February 2007, 11:35 PM
Well to be honest I've not had much chance to enjoy the RWD much since it's been tipping it down since I got it and I think I'll get used to it in the dry before I hammer it about. <looks out the window at the beautiful sunny day> :D
As for needing sunshine, as Julz says, Whack up the heaters, bang on the heated seats and everythings toastie! :D

I had my MX5 out in the snow last year with the roof down, it was -10C. The roads had just been snow ploughed and the banks of snow on each side was way above the height of the car, it was like being in a Toboggan :D

14th February 2007, 01:38 AM
But you do both realise that it may be fine and well for you being all nice and toastie, but every person driving past you is shaking their head and calling you a silly tw@t!! ;):D
