am i missing something or is thre a way of actually seeing the volume increase on the stereo, like going up in stages or numbers increasing ????

nope, you have no idea what "level" it is at..
also, I can't seem to find anywhere that you can check the engine temp for the car...:disapprove:

I use my ears for volume control, get a few funny looks when i'm changing the volume though :p:I8)
