What is the latest/greatest product for keeping the black plastic bits black on the MINI?

I want something that provides decent protection and lasts for a while.

I have Klasse All-in-One which is a polish/sealant that you can put on plastic without staining  I might rely on this initially and see how it goes.

This is one bit of MINI ownership I am defo not looking forward to :disapprove:

Myself and MarkyC both used Turtle Wax "Speed Wax". wash the car as normal and then once it's dry apply this direct to the plastic.. OK if you overspray onto the body as it's only wax. Just rub it in and it, wait a few minutes then a quick buff... protects your plastic very well...:approve::approve::approve:

I use Meguairs Gold detail trim (sorry for spelling, thing its that).

Works ok, but like anything with that material, it always fades in time :disapprove:

Ken - i'm using the in alternate sessions the MINI stuff and Megs GC Trim Detailer - not got through them yet to try anything new. Or paint - but the A720 in winter could ruin all that nice soft paintwork!

Yeah the Megs GC Trim Detailer is pretty good stuff.. Although as Wul says it will eventually dry out..

Probably one of the better trim cleaners I've used..

No... I don't work for meguiars BTW :)

I've ordered some 303 Aerospace Protectant for the MINI's bits. It seems to get good reviews in places so will advise once I've used it.

Hiya

I too use Megs GC trim detailer but the problem I have is getting the trim clean before bringing it to a shine with this. Any tips for getting the muck off - that's rural Perthshire's roads for you!!!
