well spoke to claire and my r56 cooper should b here week 4..so all going well will pick up sat 27th. just rang current insurance company to get a quote and they are asking for th name of the alarm. looked in brochure but nothing stated , kept telling the guy it is standard factory fit but he stated needs name, anyone out there can help please????

I don't know the name, but, it is a cat 1 thatchem approved system, try that :p

If they can't understand you take your business elsewhere - I use Directline, always been good.

They "should" know that the standard factory fit alarm is Thatcham Cat 1.

Esure or First Alternative are good too. UK call centre's too. Either that or they train all their Indian/Pakistani employee's in Glasgow.;)

I had no probs with Esure when they were told Thatcham cat 1.

You should not get an extra discount for the alarm. Although it is one of the best (Thatcham cat 1). It is taken into account when the car group is worked out. If they give you a discount I would be a bit worried in the event of a claim.
