gtt manafold now fitted

was just wondering if any one has got or seen the gtt manafold and cat ?(on a mini)

i am getting this for my works with the de cat pipe :D:approve::approve::approve:

I have it on my mini - and its a great piece of kit. I have the cat still in place but its a much better cat than the standard. The branches on the manifold are much more uniform length than standard and with much less tight bends to aid flow.

You will love it :D

My Playmini Manifold looks as if it has longer, straighter branches to where they join further down the manifold than the GTT pictured, with a very slight bend a few inches from the head. This might be the angle from which the photo's taken, but it looks like it. It's wider at the top than the heavily angled O.E. manifold and I had to modify (ie fold in on itself) the heat shield to clear the branches. Playmini's shape reminds me of the old 'racing' manifolds for the classic Mini - without the 'siamesed' ports of course - but I could be havering. Playmini has a high flow sports Cat as part of the manifold. Both these manifolds (and most aftermarket ones) make the O.E. item look as if it was made out of tin cans up an alley! The O.E. manifold is pretty restrictive from what I've read/heard - as the tighter angles and big ugly tin of a cat would seem to show. My car runs a treat on the Playmini, and it sounds pretty good too.

I actually posted the wrong pic - it isnt the gtt manifold but another after market one. There are pics of the GTT one on Mini2. I have seen the playmini one and must agree it is a good bit of kit. I went with GTT as I was buying a lot of other kit from Roland and managed to get a deal ;)

wow i never realsised how bad the standard one looks esp with the ammount of restriction it must have with all those bottle necks in it

Fit the de-cat pipe and you'll fail your next MOT...

One of the best things about the new GTT sports cat and manifold is that the CAT is removable. As Mon The Fish says above, put the straight through pipe in and you'll fail your MOT on emissions, but at least if your cat fails you can replace it without having to replace your manifold.

more than that if the nasty VOSA folks pull you for a road side check then your in big trouble big fine me thinks

i know it will fail the mot with out the cat in it as andy said it is removible only 4 bolts so nice and easy 2 put in and out as for road side checks my mini is not out that offten so i would be unlucky :approve:

Checking out Martin's new photo, GTT is very similar to the Playmini, with those long branches, only obvious difference is the separate Cat, which is quite a good idea... shows you just how tight the standard manifold is, eh?

thats it i looked at the paly mini one as well but the removable cat and the fact that u can replace the cat with the de cat pipe that made me want it hoping it will be here with in the next week than its off down 2 my big sisters bit 2 get it fitted :)

The GTT is also fully TIG welded for extra integrity, I believe only GTT do this.

I have a JCW exhaust and just fitted the GTT manifold recently - loving the popping it makes when accelerating & also slowing down ;)
